• Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) authorized to operate the End-of-Life Electrical and Electronics Equipment stewardship program in Manitoba. The Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) will be responsible for delivering the program in Manitoba to provide for the safe collection and recycling of electronics and electrical equipment.
• Currently in transition, the End-of-Life Electrical and Electronic Equipment stewardship program will operate under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Stewardship Regulation (R 17/2010) of the Waste Reduction and Prevention (WRAP) Act.

While electronic equipment is safe to use, it contains some level of potentially toxic substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium and may contain other heavy metals and chemical flame retardants. These substances may have adverse affects on human health, or pollute groundwater, surface water or the air if electronic waste (E-waste) is illegally dumped or burned.

Building on Manitoba’s existing E-waste (ewaste) collection system, EPRA will work with a variety of organizations to provide collection services for designated products including retail locations, charitable organizations, waste collection companies and municipalities throughout the province. There is no charge to the consumer for recycling eligible E-waste (ewaste). For a complete list of eligible products click here.
